Funding Pathways
HLP-Funded Pathway
The HLP-funded pathway is the primary funding route for trainees entering the programme.
Previously, obtaining HLP sponsorship was a compulsory requirement for enrolment into the programme.

- Subject to approval and policies by the relevant authorities
- Candidates applying under this pathway may have higher selection priority
- A refundable RM4,000 deposit is required upon acceptance of the offer

Hadiah Latihan Persekutuan (HLP)
The Federal Training Grant is awarded by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) to potential medical officers who wish to pursue either Master’s Degree or Specialist Training in Malaysia.
Please note that the HLP funding requires a separate application for both Permanent and Contract Medical Officers.
Self-Funding Pathway
The self-funding pathway is available on a limited basis and is subject to approval by KKM for each intake cycle.
Important Notes
- Limited slots are available for each intake
- Selection is subject to programme and KKM approval
- Applicants choosing this pathway may have a lower chance of selection compared to candidates under the HLP-funded pathway

Instalment Payment Plan
Trainees may also opt for an instalment payment arrangement.
Guidance and further details regarding the instalment plan will be provided upon receiving the official offer letter.

Yes. Applicants may apply through the self-funding pathway, subject to slot availability and approval for the respective intake cycle.
Is the RM4,000 deposit refundable?
Yes. The RM4,000 deposit for the HLP pathway is refundable according to the programme terms and conditions.
Are financial assistance options guaranteed?
No. Loan approval and financing eligibility are subject to the respective bank’s assessment and approval process.
